Role Summary

The Social Media and Content Manager leads the day-to-day execution of Fellowship of Montgomery’s social media presence. This role captures, edits, schedules, and publishes content that communicates the gospel with clarity, creativity, and excellence, strengthening both in-room ministry and digital engagement.

The heart of this role is consistent storytelling through photo capture and social-first video. You will capture weekly ministry moments and events, edit photos using FM presets and our grading style, publish photo and video content through a content calendar, and help create short-form content that connects people to what God is doing at Fellowship of Montgomery. This role also oversees our photography volunteer team and manages paid social advertising to help reach new people and keep our church family engaged throughout the week.

Key Responsibilities

Social Platform Management
· Manage and grow Fellowship of Montgomery’s social channels through consistent posting and a focus on high engagement
· Maintain a content calendar that supports Sundays, Wednesdays, and events
· Publish photos and short-form video content with strong consistency and attention to detail
· Monitor comments and direct messages, responding when appropriate and routing questions to the right staff when needed
· Photo Capture and Event Coverage
· Plan weekly content capture based on the church calendar and ministry requests
· Capture high-quality photos at weekly services and special events
· Deliver fast-turnaround content when needed for same-day or next-day posting
Photo Editing and Delivery
· Cull, edit, and export photos using FM presets and our grading style
· Post photo content to our social channels consistently through the content calendar, including carousels and story formats when appropriate
· Deliver photo sets and highlight selects for ministry and communication needs as assigned
· Maintain an organized, searchable digital photo library and clean project files
Social Video and Short-Form Content
· Capture and edit social-first vertical video content for reels and stories
· Post short-form video content to our social channels consistently through the content calendar, maintaining strong engagement and timely publishing
· Coordinate short-form shoots, working with the Videographer and Creative Director as needed
· Create simple, effective video edits that include strong pacing, captions, and platform-aware framing
Photography Volunteer Team Leadership
· Recruit, schedule, and lead the photography volunteer team for Sundays, Wednesdays, and events
· Train volunteers on basic shooting standards and workflow expectations
· Oversee media handoff and file management so content can be backed up and edited efficiently
Paid Social Advertising
· Manage paid social ads through Meta Business Suite, including campaign setup, targeting, budgets, creative, and reporting.
· Track performance and adjust strategy to improve reach, engagement, and clarity of communication
Communication Support
· Support church-wide announcements, ministry communication needs, and key campaigns in partnership with the Creative Director
· Ensure social posts and public-facing communication are clear, accurate, and grammatically correct
· Collaborate with staff to gather information and translate it into simple, effective communication

Who You Are

· A capable photographer who understands camera settings, lighting, composition, and capturing moments in live environments
· Comfortable capturing basic video and creating social-first edits as part of a weekly rhythm
· Highly organized, consistent, and dependable
· Ministry-minded and people-first, you care about connecting people to Jesus more than chasing trends
· Calm under pressure and able to pivot quickly when priorities change
· Strong communicator who can collaborate, take feedback, and execute

Skills and Experience

· Portfolio or examples that show strong photo capture, editing, and social media execution
· 2+ years of relevant experience in social media, photography, content creation, or digital communications
· Strong proficiency in Adobe Lightroom for photo editing. Familiarity with Photoshop is a plus
· Working proficiency editing short-form video for social (Premiere Pro preferred)
· Experience posting and scheduling across major platforms and maintaining a content calendar
· Experience running paid social ads through Meta Business Suite is strongly preferred
· Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for services and events
· Willingness to travel occasionally if required

· The photography volunteer team is scheduled, trained, and producing usable content week after week
· Everything is organized and repeatable so content is easy to find and easy to build on
